URGENT
MESSAGE - BLUE -GREEN ALGAE BLOOM JULY 2005
AVOID
CONTACT
NLMD
has been advised that the blue-green algae that is currently
on the north end of North Lake resulted from low water level
(lack of rain), high temperatures and the recent chemical treatment
of the Eurasian milfoil (die back of organic matter). This particular
type of algae is not safe to touch. Please
keep children, adults and pets out of the affected area.
Details

Recommended
control is to skim algae off, no chemical treatment. The DNR
provided a contact for this removal. The response is pending.
